Paddle 4 Whales on 17^th of June  – Get your paddle on the water for whales! Calling all PADDLERS to get your kayaks, stand up paddleboards, surfboards, bodyboard or anything that floats. Join for a morning paddle on Jervis Bay to support the migrating whales.
Count Whales on 24^th of June – Each year a Whale Census Day is conducted in Booderee National Park. Cape St George lighthouse provides a great platform to watch and count the Humpback and Southern Right whales as they begin their annual northern migration.

Have you been in Lorne during the Lorne Adventure Race?  Be a contestant or an enthusiastic spectator for this event which is not for the faint hearted. The contestants swim and trail run and race their kayaks and mountain bikes in an extremely challenging course. First, competitors swim around the Lorne Pier and then across crystal clear Loutit Bay. Then it is a paddle along the cliffs and the beautiful beaches of the Great Ocean Road while surfing southern ocean swells. Back on land, the contestants dash across the giant rock-dressed foreshore before taking the course inland through rainforests and under massive tree ferns, and past spectacular waterfalls.

Finally they saddle up on the mountain bike to the top of the Otway Ranges before the descent to the beach for a short run in the sand to the finish line. This annual event in December has become extremely popular with thousands of contestants taking part. So come along and have some fun. We invite you to head to Falls Creek on Friday 2^nd and Saturday 3rd of August to enjoy some family fun, when you get the chance to experience Sled Dog Racing in the heart of the Alpine Village under the illuminated night sky.  You will be able to witness the Sled Dog night races for 2, 3, 4 and 6 dog teams. Heats are on Friday night, followed by the epic night of finals on Saturday. Accommodation in Falls Creek area is available for those who are planning to holiday in the area.

This unique annual event will be showcasing Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, Alaskan Huskies, various Hounds, and their mushers competing against each other during these two nights of fun event. This is a great spectator sport where the course takes teams through the heart of the Alpine Village.
