Article first appeared in Caravan Park, Motel, Cabins In Clare Valley To Enjoy Fine Wine
The beautiful Clare Valley in South Australia is a destination which
offers something for everyone to enjoy during a vacation. From wonderful
local produce to more than 40 wineries, cellar doors and vineyards
producing some of the best wines in the world, to the famous Riesling
cycling trail to quaint towns plus historic mining towns are there for
you to explore and wonder around when on holiday. Accommodation options
are plenty. Book into one of the Clare Valley accommodation such as a Clare Valley motel or one of the Clare Valley cabins to begin your memorable holiday.
Wine
enthusiasts often come to the Clare Valley to sample some of the
world’s best Riesling and some of the top notch Shiraz. Many who visit
Clare venture on the Riesling Trail by hiring a bike from one of the
outlets if they don’t bring their own and follow the trail to Auburn.
Along the route make it a point to visit Sevenhill Cellars which was
founded in 1851 to produce sacramental wine a function which continues
even today.
From Sevenhill take the scenic journey towards Mintaro yet another
wine region and to explore the amazing old stone churches, antique shops
and art galleries. When in Mintaro take the children to the Mintaro
Maze for hours of family fun.
We recommend visitors enjoy the township of Clare which offer a
choice of fine dining options and panoramic views and while you are
here, take a ride on a miniature railway in Clare. From Clare drive 30
minutes north east to reach the copper mining town of Burra. Copper was
first found in the nearby town Kapunda. Burra turns on a spectacular
show in the Monster Mine in the month of February and every two years,
the Bundaleer Forest near Jamestown is transformed into a splendid venue
celebrating art and music.
When in the region you may want to see the 50,000 year old giant
wombat fossils in the Red Banks Conservation Park. If you feel like
taking a break, relax or have a picnic,
go south of Clare to the pretty rural towns of Jamestown and Spalding.
Close by beautiful Bundaleer Forest is an ideal spot for a picnic.
Do you like art and craft? Clare, Blyth, Watervale and Armagh offer
you some of the finest art and crafts and art galleries. There are
weekend markets held in townships in Clare Valley region for you to pick
some local food, wine and art. We welcome you to Clare Valley during
your next holidays.
