When you are on holiday in Hobart, you must pay a visit to the Art Mob where most of Australia’s indigenous communities are represented including the Western Desert, Balgo Hills, the Kimberley, Torres Strait and Tiwi Islands and Arnhem Land. The work and art of some of Australia’s most collectable artists, namely Gloria Petyarre from the Western Desert, Dennis Nona from the Torres Strait Islands and Sally Gabori from Mornington Island, are exhibited and sold at Art Mob. Art Mob specialises in Tasmanian Aboriginal art, including rare shell necklaces, paintings, prints and wood and fibre works by Tasmanian artists like Allan Mansell, Ros Langford and Mick Quilliam.
The Art Mob is close to many other galleries in Hobart. While you are in Hobart, you will be able to enjoy strolling around and enjoying many galleries close to each other.
