Holidays in NT, book accommodation in Darwin, holiday accommodation in Alice Springs, by OzeHols
There are only three main highways from Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia which will drive you to the fascinating Northern Territory. Given the vast distances you have to travel it is advisable for you to take a flight to Darwin or Alice Springs (the two destinations are 1500km apart) and then hire a car to explore the region. Most tourists prefer to leave it to the experts to show them around this unique, mostly uninhabited  and exciting Northern Territory. There are coach touring and adventure tour companies which will fit the bill and adequately meet your touring requirements and expectations. You may need to stay for several days in the region for your exploration. If so there are several Northern Territory accommodation options including holiday rentals in Darwin and holiday accommodation in Alice Springs for you to book online.

Mining is the main industry of NT which includes Gold, copper, iron, silver, bauxite, manganese and uranium. Tourism and beef cattle farming are known to be next. If you are planning to tour the Northern Territory, the dry season which is between May and October is a good time to visit since it is the most pleasant time to tour. The winters are mild where the July temperature in Darwin will range between 20c and 30c and it will be circa 22c in Alice Springs during the day dropping to zero in the night. Darwin is known for its relaxed lifestyle and is a perfect spot to explore the northern tip of NT.
The waterways are generally patronised by freshwater crocodiles and best to be admired from dry land or in an appropriate water craft. Also it is well worth noting that land in the territory is sacred to the aboriginal people and must be treated with respect during your tours and explorations.
