Best Of Lorne

Best Of Lorne. Information first appeared in www.ozehols.com.au, http://www.ozehols.com.au/holiday-accommodation/victoria/great-ocean-road-area/lorne

Set between Loutit Bay and Otway forests, Lorne is a township surrounded with natural beauty. Lorne is along the scenic Great Ocean Road, about 140 kilometers south of Melbourne and it is not a surprise that visitors continue to holiday in this beautiful suburb to enjoy the scenery. The two kilometer sheltered beach is fantastic for families with young children and the area close to the beach has bbq facilities and picnic areas so that you can plan to stay on the beach all day…… you may even want to try a freshly caught seafood on the bbq.
While in Lorne, explore the area to soak in the scenic beauty. You can admire the Erskine Falls cascading into a beautiful fern gully when you head to Great Otway national Park. Enjoy the picture perfect Cumberland River south of Lorne town and, admire how nature has blended dense bush amongst rugged cliff face.
Lorne hosts many events for those who seek a more vibrant atmosphere. Pier to Pub Swim and Mountain to Surf Run held in January gives you a carnival atmosphere. Then you get the  Great Ocean Road Marathon which kicks off in May and the Lorne Adventure Race held in December. If looking for more outdoor rock concert fun, then The Falls Festival, held over New Year’s Eve is a not to be missed experience. In September you can witness a weekend of performing arts and culture by the sea.
What are you waiting for? Come enjoy and explore the scenic beauty of Great Ocean Road. Marvel the twelve Apostles, explore the suburbs close to Lorne while you stay in one of the cosy holiday accommodation in Lorne offered by OzeHols. Torquay and Lorne are couple of the better known townships but there are plenty to see and do in the townships along the Great Ocean Road.
