Lygon Street, Carlton is famous for Melbourne’s cafe culture and this is where it all began….. This area known as “’Little Italy” features double-storey Victorian terraces with cafes and restaurants serving mouth watering pasta, espresso and delicious gelati.
Lygon Street is also famous for Bookshops, galleries and plenty of shops selling the latest European and Australian fashions.  Visitors to Carlton must take a walk through Carlton Gardens, pay a visit to the World Heritage listed Royal Exhibition Building and the Melbourne Museum, which displays everything from dinosaur bones to artifacts from Victoria’s Aboriginal past. What better way to get an insight into Melbourne’s history? The museum also features touring exhibitions and the spectacular IMAX movie experience. There is also the Melbourne Zoo with its Butterfly House for your enjoyment.
