The Adelaide Botanic Garden is located in the heart of the city. The gardens features stunning collection of plants including Australian natives, exotics and ornamental plants. The gardens spread to an extent of 16 hectares. Stop by the Visitor Information Centre and find out what is happening at the garden and which plant collections are looking their best before you begin your exploration..

Things to see include the magnificently restored Victorian Palm House, the SA Water Mediterranean Garden, the Amazon Waterlily Pavilion, the Santos Museum of Economic Botany, Bicentennial Conservatory and the Australian Native Garden. The garden also has permanent and temporary public installations by South Australian artists and designers.

Entry is free except to the Conservatory where an admission fee is levied. You can also join a free guided walking tour provided by the Friends of the Botanic Garden. These tours leave from the Schomburgk Pavilion at 10.30am daily except on Christmas day and Good Friday.

The Diggers Garden Shop offer a wide range of seeds, gardening books and garden wares. You can also have a snack or a light meal in one of the cafés, Simpson Kiosk and Café Fibonacci, or experience a fine dining experience at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens Restaurant.

Opening Times: Open weekdays 8am, weekends and public holidays 9am, 365 days a year. Closing hours vary throughout the year.
